Reflections.
Its been a long time since i actually blogged.
Most of my blogs are dead blogs , normally within days. I hope this one might continue existing, i hope.
Well , had sort of an ok day today , my first day at work actually.
for a start , i was there early. at 12. had half an hour to spare , so decided not to wait.
went to ask lorry if he needed help. and so i helped him mop , scrape and shovel the ice.
hey its not that bad.
then the other crew members came. then the ice show started. the 2 people skated. was interesting to watch, they're pro, without a doubt.
then my day began.
session 1 for the ice skating kids.
children tire me out , especially those fat ones who fall on the ice. picking them up , is well , exhausting , and especially after picking them up and they fall again. but i don't blame them. After all , we aren't infallible , and many times in life we do fall , we just need someone to help us up at the start , then we learn to pick ourselves up.
saw this family that favored their daughter over their son. whenever he fell , the mother kept chiding him for being careless and not listening to instructions, come on , hes like a freaking four year old . what the hell does he understand about leg posture and hand posture. then the scolding went on . and when the daughter fell , the mother kept asking if she was ok. but somehow , i admire that four year old. to me , he doesn't seem to bear grudges or feel mistreated , and , no matter how many times he fell , he would attempt to pick himself up. most importantly , he tried to take on the role of a big brother , although he was small , and his sister was like two. he kept holding her hand , and trying to help her up when she fell , even though i was there. the reaction of his parents were rather pathetic. they told him to stay away from his sister. the boy left an impression on me. he kept smiling , even when he fell down. someday he's gonna make it big.
session 2 :
i saw a funny kid. he kept falling down and wanted to fall down, then suddenly he began smothering ice all over his hair. every time i tried to pick him up , he would struggle and fall down again, then he would laugh and i would just smile back. then came along another kid , and they both began smothering ice all over each other's head.then there was this little girl who kept holding my hand , so well , i held her hand and started walking around in circles/rectangles/irregular shapes. THEN THE FAT KID CAME.
first he kicked my leg with his freaking ice blades.
then he stepped on my shoe with his freaking ice blades
then he headbutted my stomach with his freaking head
and finally he began to walk/skate/whatever.
THEN HE FELL. ok , expected
THEN I PICKED HIM UP.
and so i did.
THEN HE LOST BALANCE AND FELL AGAIN.
so i picked him up again.
he was quite heavy , rather obviously , thats why hes called the fat kid duh.
but after a while , he was alright.
session 3:
this hardcore skater who attended the first 2 sessions came again . and then there were triplets. rather normal , except that the parents kept asking me to pose in pictures with their children. then thats about all.
session 4:
Lorry was damn pek chek. cause there were only 8 kids instead of the 10-20 over kids in the other sessions. i think he expected more. but i think business will build up over time.
Finally my job was done , just had to scrape , shovel and mop the ice. then i left and went back home.
Well , overall the experience was rather enriching , kids these days are sure fortunate , and so are parents.
and today is Tim's birthday , happy birthday tim. have u bought cigs for your dad yet?
Oh ya , adriel went to china yesterday , hope you don't get robbed or breathe in the air that turns your pi sai black. have a safe trip.
well , i think this post is long enough.
I'll post soon on recent and past events , so do check in.
Cheers.
